Empowering Information Asset Owners (IAOs): what delegates said after training

Updated: Jul 23

A video of the key feedback provided after the training session.

Behind every successful public service organisation is a backbone of people who take safeguarding information seriously. And over the last couple of week, we had the privilege of equipping 18 Information Asset Owners (IAOs) from a UK police force with the tools, clarity, and confidence to do just that.

Our mission? To make data protection and information governance not just accessible, but actionable. And if feedback is any indicator, we’re proud to say: mission accomplished.

💬 “Very knowledgeable and thorough.”

💬 “The material provided was excellent.”

💬 “Excellent knowledge of the subject area and was able to impart the knowledge successfully utilising prompts, polls and interactive engagement with the attendees.”

These aren’t just kind words - they’re a reflection of the transformation we witnessed first hand. From start to finish, officers leaned in with curiosity and commitment, navigating complex principles with relatable insight and practical application.

So how did we do? Out of those who completed our feedback forms:

  • 100% would recommend this training to a colleague

  • 100% said they are likely or very likely to use our services again

We're especially proud that even the constructive suggestions underscored the high standard we’re setting. Requests like "splitting the session across two days” reveal a hunger not for less content, but for more ways to deepen understanding.

This is the kind of feedback that fuels us.

Because at the heart of our approach is a belief that data protection training shouldn’t feel like another checkbox. It should spark ownership, accountability, and a renewed understanding of the why behind the compliance journey.

To the officers who showed up with openness and integrity: thank you. Your dedication reinforces why we do what we do.

And to those reading this who are wondering how to engage your IAOs, foster trust, and create real world resilience in the face of complexity - we’d love to help.

Let’s transform data protection into something powerful. One session at a time.
